GUIDELINES FOR LIONS MEASLES RUBELLA INITIATIVE CAMPAIGN PARTICIPATION

 BEFORE THE CAMPAIGN:

• 1.     Discuss with your Club members during your meetings and get approval and commitment of participation.
• 2.     Appoint a Convenor from your Club who will liase with your members and Measles Rubella Convenor / Coordinator.
• 3.     Identify an appropriate health facility around your area and carry out an initial survey and get acquainted with the staff at the health facility. Inform them that you will participate in the National Measles Rubella immunization week from ………… September 2014. You can identify more than one health facility if your club wishes.
• 4.     Invite a Government official or prominent Civic leader in your area to witness your clubs participation in the campaign.
• 5.     Put up our Lions Banners in prominent facilities and institutions in your area.
• 6.     Participate in the Lions sponsored Road Show which will be passing through your town (more details will be given to you duly.)

DURING THE CAMPAIGN:

• 1.     The campaign starts in the 1st week of September 2014. Go to the centre early and put up our Lions Banner and posters with your club Banner.
• 2.     Mobilize your Lion members to help in the logistics at the centre (crowd control, Registration, etc).
• 3.     Thank the parents for attending and tell them the importance of this immunization exercise.
• 4.     Conduct a small official programme at the centre.

a.)   Invite the Government official or prominent civic leader to say a few words.

b.)   Region chairman to welcome all and acknowledge the participation of Lions and others in the whole country participating in the campaign.

c.)    Vote of thanks.

• 5.     Play with the children before vaccination and console them after. Giving a small sweet or lollipop will definitely cheer them up.
• 6.     Take Photos; Take as many photographs and Video shooting as possible. Lions must be seing working hands on.

 AFTER THE CAMPAIGN:

• 1.     Thank all members for their active participation
• 2.     Celebrate your success for saving children lives.
• 3.     Send a report with photos to the Project Coordinator / Project Convenor as soon as possible.
