LEOS CLUB OF DSM PWANI CARRY OUT MRI CAMPAIGN IN MSASANI, MASAKI AND OYSTERBAY AREA


24 Leos of DSM Pwani guided by 6 Lions of DSM Pwani and 3 parents carried out Measles and Rubella campaign in the affluent part of the city in order to target people who may not be aware of the vaccination. On 12th October, they camped at 4 locations namely Sea Cliff and Village Supermarket in Oyster bay, Shoppers Plaza in Masaki and Slip Way in Msasani. 

The Leos sensitised parents who visited the malls and supermarkets and advised them on the importance of the vaccination and also distributed Fliers. The Leos also stuck Posters on walls and posts at strategic areas including Schools and Three Wheelers. They were visited by RC Lion Shiraz Rashid.

DAR FRATERNITY MEETING FOR MRI PREPARATORY WORK TAKES PLACE AT TIFFANY DIAMOND HOTEL


On 3rd October 2014, Dar Fraternity meeting presided by RC Lion Shiraz, was called to discuss on the MRI preparatory works and to further the understanding of fraternity lions.

The following speakers presented at the meeting:
  1. PCC Lion Khan explained on the overall status of the project
  2. Lion Rizwan explained on the fraternity involvement and social mobilisation.
  3. Dr. Maduhu from MOHSW comprehensively explained on the Measles and Rubella disease, its effect on the children and the need to make people aware of the scourge so that effort to eliminate the disease can be made.
  4. Mr. Issa Kheri from Red Cross explained on the house to house sensitisation inclusive of personal communication skills and post vaccination campaigns.




DAR FRATERNITY COMMENCES ROADSHOW ON 12TH OCTOBER TO 14TH OCTOBER FROM MNAZI MMOJA GROUNDS

At the Mnazi Mmoja Grounds were the Project Coordinator PCC Lion Majid Khan, IPDG Lion Wilson Ndesanjo, RC Lion Shiraz Rashid, ZC Lion Larry Shah, Project Co Convenor for DSM Lion Dr. Hussein, Project Secretary Lion Rizwan and Convenors Lion Bimal, Lion Rafiq, Deputy Convenor of Leos Lion Sara and Lion Suresh. They flagged off the first round and the secind round will be on 14th.

Lion Nitu Rehal mentioned to the the journalist that the assistance given was for all the children in the country so that they do not miss out the vaccination geared to eliminate Measles and Rubella.

KILIMANJARO LIONS PIONEER MRI CAMPAIGN IN THEIR REGION


  1. Led By Convenor RC Lion Balraj, Kilimanjaro Lions commenced MRI Campaign swiftly by meeting Regional Medical Officer Dr. Mwako and Municipality leaders on 6th October.
  2. On 8th October, they handed Posters, Fliers and T Shirts to Dr. Mwako.
  3. On 10th October the Road show was flagged off from Hindu Mandal Grounds.
  4. The Core Committee noted the wonderful work carried out by the Lions and commended them for the relentless efforts. 






MRI ACSM MATERIAL STOCK TAKING

The Print Material was stocked at Chan'gombe, properly packed in boxes and dispatched to all upcountry regions and fraternity clubs for the Campaign. Upcountry regions received the items on 6th October while  Dar fraternity received their part on 10th October. 







LEOS FULLY ORIENTED FOR THE MRI CAMPAIGN

On 28th September, Pwani Leos were fully trained to be able to become part of MRI campaign in the City Centre and Oyster bay areas. ZC Lion Larry Shah was also in attendance.
